In my time of teaching kindergarten, God brought a special friend into my life. Kerri and her husband Tim moved from Wisconsin to the Indianapolis area. Because of the size of my upcoming kindergarten class, my administrator decided I needed an assistant, and Kerri was chosen for this job.
We connected immediately, and I couldn’t have gotten through that year without her. The needs of the students were met because I had her help.
During that year of working in kindergarten together, Kerri discovered she was expecting her first child. It was so fun to work with her day in and day out and experience the excitement as she carried her baby and felt him growing within her.
I had the privilege of capturing announcement photos for them. . .
…followed by special maternity photos.
Tim had some unique and creative requests and I loved bringing them to life!
One request was to have a maternity photo that had a reflection in a mirror that had them holding the baby once he arrived. This special photo was really fun to create!
The second request was to do a Charlie Brown set up for their little guy.
Because of my background as a kindergarten teacher, I am always extra excited to incorporate a theme like this, so I got to work to create a fun Charlie Brown set up for their newborn session.
Time went by, and Tim and Kerri discovered Elias was going to be a big brother!
We had another fun announcement session in their home.

We went downtown Indianapolis and captured photos around some of the local hotels and finished up at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in Monument Circle right in the heart of downtown Indy!
When baby brother arrived, we incorporated the Charlie Brown theme by dressing Elias back up as Charlie Brown, and little brother Eliot as Snoopy!
Once again, time passed by, and God blessed Tim and Kerri with the anticipation of another little one. Another little Dilling boy was going to join the family!
We did another fun announcement session right in the living room of their home.
We did a special maternity milkbath session with just momma this time. We started with some special photos outdoors and then captured some beautiful photos indoors for the milkbath.
Before we knew it, little Micah was here! It was so fun to have Elias and Eliot back in the studio as big brothers when they had both been in the studio as newborn babies!
And, of course, we HAD to incorporate the Charlie Brown theme again!
Once again, Elias was dressed like Charlie Brown, Eliot was dressed as Snoopy, and sweet baby Micah joined the crew as Woodstock.
We got a few different shots of the three boys together in the Charlie Brown / Peanuts theme and then captured some of Micah on his own as our little Woodstock.
As fun as the Peanuts theme is, we were sure to capture some beautiful, organic photos of the three boys together to ensure they had some timeless heirlooms of this sweet stage of life.
Micah had several other heirloom photos that resulted from his newborn session including some snuggles with Mommy and Daddy and his first family photo with his parents and two big brothers that love him so very much!
From Charlie Brown, to Snoopy, to Woodstock, we have had so much fun continuing this theme! How should we carry it on if another Dilling baby comes?
