Enhancing your newborn session with fresh flowers | Baby Delaney | Indianapolis Newborn Photographer

Little Miss Delaney graced my studio just 5 days after her arrival earthside.

Momma agreed to being in a few shots with her sweet girl and now she has the sweetest heirlooms with her baby girl.

I always encourage this because the newborn stage is so fleeting! You want a beautiful capture of the love between you and your baby and you want to remember how small she was as you held her in your arms!

Momma requested colors that were light, organic and soft. Our first pose was in a pretty little wicker basket and included a sweet bonnet with florals and boho lace.

Delany showed her approval with a little smile.

Next, we posed Delaney in the sweetest set up with a little heart bowl and peachy, blush florals with vintage cream lace. These colors complimented her skin tones so well!

While she was posed in the heart bowl, we switched her little bonnet for a sweet little coordinating tie back and shifted her hand to frame her face.

Doing this provides extra variety within a pose so that momma has a great variety of photos.

While Delaney was wrapped, we shifted her to a peachy, blush backdrop and got some sweet shots with some pretty little hearts.

Then we transitioned into some different poses on this same backdrop.

Froggy pose is one of my favorite poses because of how it shows so many of your newborn baby’s details all in one photo. Her little nose, eyelashes and lips, her tiny fingers, and her sweet toes peeking out. Having her little cheeks framed with her hands is also a sweet treat from this pose.

We transitioned to a ruffled, blush pink wrap and matching tie back from The Indy Cottage (check out her Instagram page here!) and posed Miss Delaney on a soft, cream flokati.

While Delaney was posed in various set ups, we captured some of her sweet newborn details. These shots are so important to help keep your memory vivid with the littleness of your baby. These are the details that are easiest to forget as time passes. The memory of them becomes blurred. But with these photos, your memories of these details will stay sharp every time you look at your heirloom photos.

And this brings us to the highlight of Delaney’s session.

Momma really wanted her posed with fresh flowers, and because she was born during tulip season, she asked to have her posed with tulips. My favorite local florist, Floral Compass Flower Farm, was currently featuring tulip bouquets. So momma picked up a fresh bunch on the way over to the newborn session, and we incorporated these beautiful fresh tulips for the most amazing heirloom photos of Miss Delaney!

The flowers don’t last in real life, but if you incorporate them into your photos, they will last forever!

Please check out the Instagram page for Floral Compass Flower Farm and give them a follow!

If you are local to Indianapolis, you can purchase flowers from them at the Farmers Market at the Healthway Park Farmers Market (check them out on Facebook HERE!)

Depending on what part of Indianapolis you live, she also delivers bouquets for a minimal fee!

As always, your newborn session will be tailored to your preferences and requests. I am honored to be chosen to capture heirloom photos for you as you welcome your baby to the world. Please reach out here to chat about scheduling your newborn session!
