How close to the due date should we book the session?

Let me share some answers to some of the most frequently asked questions and set your mind at ease as you are planning to book your session!
One of the first things we do when booking your maternity session is take a look at your due date. Maternity photo sessions are generally best when momma is about 32 - 36 weeks along, so we look at the due date and go back about 4-6 weeks from that point. The beginning to middle of the third trimester is a wonderful time to capture this amazing stage of love between you and your partner and your sweet, growing baby.
At this point in pregnancy, your belly has a beautiful shape and you are not dealing with some of the additional swelling and puffiness that can come right at the very end of pregnancy before delivering your precious baby.
Sometimes as you progress in your pregnancy, your doctor will schedule an induction or a cesarean section. If this is scheduled far enough in advance, we will adjust our session time to be within four to six weeks of the scheduled delivery.
There is always flexibility to reschedule if the need arises. Your maternity photo session brings beautiful, unique elements because YOU are beautiful and unique! If possible, it is best to contact me when you are in your first trimester so that we can get a tentative date on the calendar and have the most flexibility to work around that date should the need arise as we get closer. This also gives us plenty of time to get to know each other and chat about your preferences and dreams for your photo session!
